When: Tuesday, January 28, 2014

Tate Highschool is one of 10 schools to receive funding from the Dairy Council/NFL Fuel Up to Play 60 program. Friday January 24 seniors and ROTC students hosted a special guest, NFL superbowl veteran cornerback, LeighTorrence. Torrence’s appearance was to reward Tate students for being the first high school in their school district to receive a grant from the Fuel Up to Play 60 program, a nationwide movement focused on fighting childhood obesity by empowering young people to take control of their own health.  The money will be used to create a fitness trail, nutrition education program and taste tests of healthier, tastier school breakfast options.
